Revamped expense categorizations

There are now 104 detailed categories based on general personal finance needs and expectations. We've added new categories for travel, food, and entertainment expenses. We originally launched with only 30 categories, so we've more than tripled the number of categories available to you!

Top new additions you'll want to use:

  1. Parking: For all those parking fees you pay
  2. Taxis & ride share: For all your Uber, Lyft, and taxi rides
  3. Flights: For all your flights
  4. Rental cars: For all your rental car expenses
  5. Lodging: For all your hotel or Airbnb stays

Edit your expense categories inline

If you didn't categorize your expense when you created it, you can now edit the category inline. Simply click on the category and select the new category you want to use. This makes it easy to categorize your expenses after you've created them.

Note: You can change the expense category even if you didn't create it! Have a lazy friend? Well good news, you can categorize their expenses for them!

What happened to the old categories?

Great news, we've migrated all your old categories to the new categories for you. This means you don't have to do anything to get the new categories. All your old categories have been updated to the new categories. You can now use the new categories for all your expenses.

If we've missed a category you were using, please let us know, and we'll add it to the new categories. If you have any feedback on the new categories, we'd love to hear it!

P.S. Check out the stats chart, it should be more colorful now!

Conclusion

We are excited to launch the revamped expense categorization feature. With over 100 detailed categories, you can now categorize your expenses more accurately. We hope you enjoy this new feature and find it helpful in managing your expenses.
